Set in a quiet valley in the neighbouring parish, Roger and Lavinia Halliday’s 100 hectare farm provides a typically rich and diverse Cornish landscape of small fields, deep woods and lush river meadows.
Fully organic since 2001, the farm rears its own grass-fed pedigree South Devon cattle and Lleyn sheep to produce meat of fine texture and rich, well-developed flavour.
The management of the farm adheres to the strict rules and standards of the with medication kept to an absolute minimum and animal welfare taking high priority. The young stock mature slowly and naturally, fed almost exclusively on a diet of grass and without the use of concentrates; additionally, the existence of a local abattoir means that journey times/miles are minimal, benefiting both the animals and the environment.
The farm gives us complete quality control and traceability and we work with local craft-butcher who ensures that the meat is properly hung and expertly butchered so that it is served at the Springer Spaniel at its absolute best.
